Acara Institute's mission is to develop sustainable business solutions that address global societal challenges.
We believe that successful solutions to difficult and hard-to-
define problems are unlikely to emerge from a single person or organization. Acara is therefore dedicated to bringing together a collection of talents, minds and resources represented by diverse teams from academia and industry to collaboratively explore business concepts and implement sustainable solutions.
Acara’s 2009-2010 programs and businesses are focused on water and energy. Our initial programs are in India. Our plans are to expand to Latin America and China, and to include programs that address nutrition and health.
Acara works to produce the following outputs:

Business Plans (through Acara Challenge and other methods) which identify business approaches to address broad problems identified by Acara and its partners.

Businesses which are scalable and sustainable.

A new generation of global leaders - by providing students with an insight into global problems and how to impact change.
